Welcome to the New AGCO DT Series Discussion
The site will serve as a discussion board for the soon to be launched New AGCO DT Tractor. If you submit a question I will try my best to get it answered. I will post items of interest as I have them. Happy posting.
The actual launch is scheduled to take place in February. You will be able to see the tractor at major farm shows this spring. Also, after the launch, we'll post plenty of photos and specs as well as locations where you can check out the machine for yourself.
You're not kidding. This tractor is impressive. Make sure you sign up for updates ( at www.longlivethefamilyfarm.com) and I'll send you stuff as we can release it.
I'm sure you'll find it a good value. Consider talking with your dealer. I know of dealers who are already getting requests and your dealer can make sure you can get a good look at the tractor for yourself.
Dealers have Preliminary Pricing so visit your local AGCO dealer. We have already pre-sold one of the Intial allotment and ordered another one. One thing with AGCO they guarantee a pre-sold unit: Price, Program and Interest Rates. It's a win-win for you and your dealer to get him involved in the buying process, Plus AGCO has extra incentives for Pre-Seell Orders!!! Hurry time in running out for 2009 build slots. There already getting a bunch of orders and sold units. Can't wait to get some in to show the customers. Everything I've heard is the is one awesome tractor! The sister brand has been cleaning up the Innovation Awards already!
I have seen that the sister equivilent models of this tractor have been intoduced in europe. I have also noticed that they each have 5 models in there series and for the US they are only getting 4. Why are we not getting the the 5th model (the300hp model) here? I have also heard that it will come the following year? Is this true? I see this tractor has now moved on to the "B" series. Will the rest of the orange line follow sut with this? I cant wait to see this new tractor and am actually thinking of taking a trip to louiville to see it. Thanks
Not offering the fifth model in the series in North America was a product marketing management decision guided by many factors. One important consideration was the competition between worldwide demand for these tractors and the build slots that will be available at the factory in 2009. Realize that full production builds up over time not instantly after the old series stops production. If every single 5th-in-the-series model that can be built is spoken for by dealers and customers where it was first introduced (Western Europe markets for one), then you could say it would be kind of misleading to dealers and customers to place it in the North America price book right away.
The addition of the fifth model at some future date is being very seriously considered so watch this space and other news releases from AGCO to learn what develops.
Yes, other AGCO tractor series will be updated someday and when a new generation of RT Series tractors is released it will probably have B in their model numbers rather than the present A. However, even for most of the people at AGCO the date for this is unknown. Please give us a chance to do a good job on the new DT Series first and then, after the DT, start thinking about preparing for new RT and LT tractors.
It would seam like AGCO would want to keep up with competition and offer the 5th option in the US. Since the tractors are built in the same plant is it completely out of the question for someone to order the 5th option?
Another big question i have had for many years now is why i can not go to the agcoiron site and buy AGCO merchandise. I can go to any of the other AGCO brand web sites and buy merchandise.
Challenger had a a unique program that challengerag.com could link to and Massey Ferguson had the MasseyMall online store program in recent years that was something of trial program of AGCO Marketing North America to be involved in logo merchandise as compared to AGCO Parts being the only source for such licensed products. The AGCO Parts program was primarily focused on wholesaling such products to dealers. AGCO Parts did not pursue any online retail stores for the general public.
A few months ago, AGCO senior management for North America directed AGCO Marketing North America (the marketers of tractor, combine, etc., wholegoods) to take over logo merchandise marketing in order to tie it in better with the marketing of the wholegoods brands and to make it more available online just as you have requested. Working with the Staples Promotional Products company, new online stores for both AGCO-affiliated dealers and for the general public have been developed and will be kicked off very soon in conjunction with the AGCO Dealer Business Meeting on Feb. 3 in Atlanta.
Watch for links to the new online store to appear on www.agcoiron.com and for news releases to the media.
As part of the organization change and revamping of the logo merchandise program, the Challenger and Massey Ferguson programs are being consolidated into the same system operated by Staples Promotional Products.
Thanks for answering my questions. You have been very helpfull. But I do have one more question. Why is there not any agco or massey tractors in the 300hp plus articulator catagory. My dealer constantly complains about the lack of an articulated tractor and has lost many sales to deere and case because of this reason. He has recently picked up the versatile line to fill this void to his cusomers. He said he did well selling the agcostars to his customers. Why was the agcostar line discontinued and will we ever see another articulator?????
I've noticed that in Europe that every AGCO brand(except maybe for Fendt) has this model of high horsepower tractor in their line up. This includes Massey Ferguson, Valtra, and Challenger. Will theses brands have the new high horsepower tractors added to their line-up along with Agco tractors in the North American market?
You're right about three brands in Europe receiving new high-horsepower tractors: Challenger, Massey Ferguson and Valtra. The European brands will take European spec tractors with different tire options, different fenders front and rear, different cab roofs, different lighting packages, some different PTO and hydraulics controls, and probably a host of other differences from tractors built for North America.
One the key reasons for AGCO Corporation to make one of its biggest investments ever to produce new 200 HP and up tractors is to become more competitive in the North American market for high HP row crop tractors. So AGCO didn't scrimp on building into the tractors the stuff that would make them great workhorses for the North American row crop farmer. The new AGCO DT Series have the rear wheel spacing choices, ability to handle taller tires, strengthened front dual wheel capabilities, a phenomenal improvement in forward visibility, headlands management/automation systems, and just a long, long list of things designed into the tractor to make the new DT Series a better-than-ever tractor for the row crop farmers and for the AGCO dealers that have served these farmers for generations.
Oh yes, Challenger and Massey Ferguson in North America get new high HP, fixed-frame wheel tractors too. They have their geographic areas where they are strong and types of customers they have a lock on. But watch for AGCO DT Series tractors to lead the charge in the main row crop growing areas.
What is the reason we cannot download background or screen savers from agcoiron website? I currently am using Challenger and Massey screensavers but would rather use the new DT series. Any info on if that would be possible in the future? Thanks

I know this is off the topic but can anyone tell me if any AGCOSTAR's had 3 points? and if so does anyone know where i can look for a used one. I haven't found any online. Thank you.
I noticed that Massey has updated their website. Sure wish we could see the new orange one already. I know its the same but its not orange. Hope the site is updated soon.
Thanks for the info on the AGCOSTAR with more research i have come to the same conclusion. I sure wish they had made one. I cant afford a 4-wheel challenger or track tractor so i may have to find something different as much as i will hate to do that.
Looking at the new Massey, I do not think AGCO held anything back. The marketing department did a much better job showing off the tractor then their international site. The tractor looks amazing. I am very excited now to see the tractor in person next week in Tulare.
Jumping back to AGCO14's question about AGCOSTAR tractors ---- checking with Steve Reiling who as the AGCOSTAR marketing manager at the time --- he confirmed they were only sold bareback --- no 3-point was available.
There is an integrated belly weight with the new tractor. It is part of the standard equipment. The wieght is approximately 1800 lbs. I hope this helps.
The information tells me the spring of 2009 for the release. Any information on an estimated date?

ReplyDeleteI have heard that AGCO has out done themselves on this one and it will not disapoint.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the jungle Bambi this thing is going to rock your world.

ReplyDeleteI hope the price is still within my reach. As much as steel prices have come down equipment should be following.

The logo merchandise program is being revamped.

ReplyDeleteNot to be rude, but I believe that question was answered above.

ReplyDeleteTune in after Feb 3rd and we'll have all types of cool things for you.
ReplyDeleteI know this is off the topic but can anyone tell me if any AGCOSTAR's had 3 points? and if so does anyone know where i can look for a used one. I haven't found any online. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'll ask around.
ReplyDeleteMy memory on the AGCO Star tractors were a drawbar-only tractor. No 3pt and no PTO.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's almost February 5. What cool things does the AGCO marketing department have in store for us?
I noticed that Massey has updated their website. Sure wish we could see the new orange one already. I know its the same but its not orange. Hope the site is updated soon.

ReplyDeleteNew AGCO DT photos and videos up at www.longlivethefamilyfarm.com
ReplyDeleteThe tractor is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere I saw some weighting options but didn't see anything on a belly weight. Is that still an option that is available?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question for Blane. I'll ask.

ReplyDeleteGreat that is good to know. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for a screen saver for the new tractor. Also i still do not see a link on agcoiron to the shopagco sight. Any news on this?
ReplyDeleteThanks
